KATHMANDU, Oct 15: Vehicles with route permits are permitted to operate on the BP Highway starting today.

The Road Division, Bhaktapur, has granted permission for small vehicles to use the highway, which had previously been closed due to damage caused by the floods and landslides.

As many people prepare to return home for Dashain, transport operators have begun running larger buses on the route. However, challenges remain with diversions near Chowkidanda and the Mamati River.

The Road Division has urged caution, noting that while licensed vehicles can operate, there is still a risk of dry landslides in the Bhakundebesi-Barshekhola section.

Authorities have advised against nighttime travel and stressed that only small vehicles should operate carefully on the highway.
