Narayanghat-Butwal road reopens

Authorities reopened the Narayanghat-Butwal road section for two-way traffic this morning after they cleared debris from a dry landslide that had blocked the route.

MADHYABINDU (NAWALPARASI), April 22: Authorities reopened the Narayanghat-Butwal road section for two-way traffic this morning after they cleared debris from a dry landslide that had blocked the route.


The landslide struck on Tuesday afternoon at Daunne in Binayi Tribeni Rural Municipality-2 of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), halting traffic in both directions.

Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal from the District Police Office said police temporarily stopped all traffic while teams cleared the landslide debris. The blockage had stranded hundreds of vehicles along the highway.


Meanwhile, workers continue expanding the road in the Daunne section by suspending vehicle movement from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
