KATHMANDU, April 26: The Election Commission (EC) has decided to permit public vehicles to operate freely in Ilam constituency-2 and Bajhang Provincial Assembly Constituency- 1 (a), where the by-elections will be held.

The EC has instructed the Chief District Officers through the Ministry of Home Affairs to make necessary arrangements accordingly.

In previous elections, only vehicles with essential services and EC-issued vehicle passes were allowed to operate. However, for the convenience of voters in the by-elections, the EC has decided to allow uninterrupted operation of public transport to the polling stations.
