A meeting of the Technical Sub-committee on Avian Influenza at the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives on Monday afternoon decided to keep a team of health professionals at the airport, give a health-related questionnaire to the passengers returning from Mexico and USA and take immediate necessary actions if anyone is suspected to have contracted the flu.
"We also decided to issue a statement for public awareness on swine flu and discussed about the possible measures to be taken in case of an outbreak here," said Dr Shailendra Uprety, director of the Epidemology and Disease Control Division at the Health Ministry.
