KATHMANDU, Dec 28: The Curriculum Development Center (CDC) under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has implemented a new system of examination evaluation from the current academic session so that the school level students not getting at least 35 marks in the examination would be considered as ‘failed’.
The Letter Grading Guideline, 2021, implemented by the center from the current academic session, has made it mandatory for the students from grades 1 to 12 of school level to score at least 35 marks in each subject to pass the examination.

Ana Prasad Neupane, director general at the CDC said, “Concluding that the grading system that has been implemented since 2072 BS has lowered the learning level of students, removed the culture of teaching and studying among teachers, the new letter grading guideline has been implemented.”
According to the new system, the assessment of students from classes 1 to 12 is now uniform, he said.
