KATHMANDU, April 21: The Supreme Court will hear today (Monday) the habeas corpus petition that Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane’s wife filed.
Lamichhane’s wife, Nikita Poudel Lamichhane, went to the court on Sunday and filed the petition, claiming authorities had detained Lamichhane illegally. The court scheduled today’s hearing to conduct a preliminary review.

Lamichhane has argued that the authorities violated existing laws and the constitution by detaining him.
Earlier, he also filed another petition at the Supreme Court, challenging the High Court’s detention order as unlawful. In response, the Supreme Court ordered the authorities to submit a clarification report.
