Sabina's husband, Dr Niraj Acharya, is on his way to Taplejung with two specialist doctors to assist in their care.
Krishna Shah, a member of the Koshi Province Tourism Year 2082 Secretariat, said Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki called Dr Acharya to express condolences over the loss of his daughter and in-laws in the incident. Shah added that the provincial government has pledged to cover all medical and related expenses.
Earlier today, a burst of raging fire suddenly engulfed a jeep with registration Me 1 Ja 3011, traveling toward the Pathibhara area of Taplejung, killing four people, including the driver, and injuring two others. Local health workers said Sabina suffered severe burns over a large portion of her body and needs advanced medical care.
Although authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the fire, preliminary assessments suggest that it may have started when a high-tension power line fell onto the vehicle.
