SURKHET, April 21:Four people died in a tractor accident in Kalikot on Monday.
According to the District Police Office, Kalikot, the ill-fated tractor — with an unknown registration number — was carrying food and retail goods from Thirpu, Palanta Rural Municipality-9, toward Palanta-4 when it met with an accident near Budadanda, Palanta-2, last night.
Two killed in tractor accident
The deceased have been identified as tractor driver Chandra Prakash Rokaya, 25, from Kawa, Khatyad Rural Municipality-5 of Mugu; Rabindra BK, 21, from Palanta-4 in Kalikot; Sadu Budha, 22; and Amba Shahi, approximately 25 to 26 years old, from Sallikot, Palanta-5. All of them died at the scene.
According to police, the tractor veered off the road and got stuck on a cliffside. The bodies were found approximately 200 meters below the road.
Upon receiving the news, a police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Bhim Bahadur Sunar from the Thirpu Area Police Office reached the site during the night.
Due to the steep and difficult terrain, police have not yet been able to reach the exact location of the tractor, which is why the vehicle's registration number has not been identified.
