JANAKPURDHAM, Oct 24: The Police Headquarters has transferred the Superintendents of Police (SP) of Dhanusa and Sarlahi district. According to Umesh Ranjitkaar, Deputy Inspector General of Province 2 Police, SP Santosh Singh Rathore of Sarlahi, and SP Prakash Ranabhat of Dhanusha were transferred under the direction of the headquarters.
Following the transfer, SP Krishna Prasai was transferred to Sarlahi, while SP Basant Rajauray was transferred to Dhanusa.
Earlier, the police officers could do nothing when Rajesh Kashuwaha, Chief of Drinking Water and Sewage Department was dragged and shamed across the streets of Janakpur by members of the Janamat Party led by CK Raut on Thursday. According to sources, SP Ranabhat of Dhanusha was transferred due to the weakness shown by the police to take control of the incident.
As a result, issues were raised regarding the weakness of the police department for not being able to control the growing rate of crime in the Sarlahi district. Following the allegations from the public, SP Rathore, too, was transferred by the headquarters.
