KATHMANDU, Oct 5: Chief of the Nepali Army (COAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel left for the United Kingdom on Monday on a formal visit at the invitation of British Army Chief of the General Staff General Sir Roly Walker.
According to the Nepali Army, Sigdel will remain in the UK from October 5 to 11. The visit is expected to further strengthen the longstanding military ties between Nepal and the UK and contribute to Nepal’s foreign policy through military diplomacy.

Sigdel was bid farewell at Tribhuvan International Airport by Acting Chief of the Nepali Army, Lt Gen Pradeep Jung KC, before his departure.
During Sigdel’s absence, Lt Gen KC will assume the duties of the acting Chief of the Nepali Army.
