Ashok Raj Sigdel is Nepal’s new army chief

KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Ashok Raj Sigdel has been appointed as the Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) of the Nepali Army. According to the Office of the President, Ashok Raj Sigdel has been appointed as the CoAS in accordance with Article 267 (5) of the Constitution on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Ashok Raj Sigdel has been appointed as the Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) of the Nepali Army. According to the Office of the President, Ashokraj Sigdel has been appointed as the CoAS in accordance with Article 267 (5) of the Constitution on Wednesday.


In a release issued by the Office of the President, it is mentioned that Sigdel’s appointment as the new army chief will take effect from September 9.

President Ram Chandra Paudel, on the recommendation of the Cabinet, has appointed Sigdel, who is currently serving as the Acting CoAS of the Nepali Army, as the CoAS.
