The organizers have expected participation of about 200 schools from across the country in the event. The expected cost of the event is Rs 3.5 million. HSEB has promised to provide Rs 750,000 for the event. [break]
Govt to award women footballers
KATHMANDU: The government has decided to award Rs 50,000 each to the members of national women´s football team that claimed second position in the Second SAFF Women´s Championship. Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Badri Neupane informed the media about the decision after the cabinet meeting on Thursday. Nepali women´s team had claimed second position in the championship held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from September 11 to 16, 2012.
Nepal had suffered 3-1 defeat against India in the final. The government also decided to award Rs 100,000 to Jharana Gurung, the bronze medalist of the Eighth Asian Wushu Championship.
