Likewise, in the girls´ 43-46 kg section, Regina Karki edged out Santoshi Dahal in the final match to win the title. Devika Tamang and Sangeeta Karki each won bronze medal.
Meanwhile, Sagar Bogati beat Bhishma Shrestha in the boys´ 29-32 kg final to claim the title. Anuj Magar and Anil Rai had to be satisfied in third position. In the boys´ 33-36 kg section, Bijay Shrestha and Yuvraj Lama claimed the first and second positions while Suman Kumal and Bijay Lama trailed behind in third position.
Amiran Chaudhary defeated Jeevan Bal in the boys´ 41-45 kg final. Bishal Shiwakoti and Sameer Thapa claimed bronze medals. In the boys´ 66-70 kg section, Anuj Pujari and Rupak Shrestha entered the final which has been rescheduled for Sunday instead of Saturday.
Rara Hill win basketball title
KATHMANDU, Jan 2: The senior girls´ team of Rara Hill won the title of the Fifth RAA Inter School Basketball Tournament on Saturday.
Bhumika Maharjan´s 10 points helped the hosts Rara Hill defeat Rose Bud 26-16 in the final match held at the Rara Hill Memorial School, Kirtipur.
Palishya Maharjan was declared the most valuable player of the tournament.
Shining felicitates players
KATHMANDU, Jan 2: Shining Star Saving and Credit Co-operative on Saturday felicitated martial arts player Jharana Gurung and chess player Badri Lal Nepali during its seventh general assembly.
Wushu player Jharana was the only Nepali medal winner during the First Asian Martial Arts Games held in Thailand recently. Badri Lal is a three-time national champion in chess.
Likewise, Shining also gave away sportswear to wushu players selected for the 11th South Asian Games.
