PORTLAND, Oct 28: The 2nd General Assembly of the united union of former Nepalese Taekwondo players and coaches affiliated with the Universal United Nepalese Taekwondo Federation (UUNFT) held in Portland has decided to organise the Nepal Open Taekwondo Championship in Kathmandu in 2017.
The meeting also decided to provide scholarship for the best player of the championship and award a person for his or her contribution to the development of the UUNTF.
Eight taekwondo players to compete in India open
On the occasion, Jaganlal Shrestha, active member of the UUNFT was honored for his contribution to the development of UUNTF. Keshab Kumar Bista, Member Secretary of the National Sport Council, Nepal and UUNFT President Raj Kumar Rai handed over the award.
Likewise, Nisha Rawal was honored with USD$ 1000 in cash and a letter of appreciation for her best performance in the recently held Olympic game. Karen Blacklage, General Secretary of the International Open Friendship Taekwondo Champion was also honored.
The assembly was attended by the total 45 former players and coaches from various countries like Nepal, Japan, the United States of America, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, Macau, Australia and Canada. RSS
