Schools closed due to cold wave in Parsa

BIRGUNJ, Jan 4: Three local units in Parsa district have closed schools due to increasing cold for a week. Recently, Thori and Dhobini rural municipalities closed schools till January 8.

BIRGUNJ, Jan 4: Three local units in Parsa district have closed schools due to increasing cold for a week. Recently, Thori and Dhobini rural municipalities closed schools till January 8.


The teaching-learning activities have already been halted in the Jirabhawani area for the same reason.

Cold wave has badly affected normal life in the district. Both public and private schools were closed to avoid the chilling cold.


Meanwhile, Birgunj Metropolitan City distributed warm clothes to some 6,000 senior citizens in the city. The service was provided as part of the public welfare scheme of the Metropolitan City, according to Mayor Bijay Kumar Sarabagi.


Blankets, nets, umbrellas, and torch lights, among other things, were provided to the senior citizens. The campaign will reach all 32 wards of the metropolitan city.
