BAJURA, Sept 8: The Sanfe-Martadi road, which had been blocked for three days due to landslides, is now open.
The road was completely blocked due to landslides that had occurred at various areas of Ward Nos. 6, 8, and 9 of Badimalika Municipality following continuous rains since Saturday.
The road has been operational since a while ago, according to Chief District Officer Dorendra Niraula.
One more kala-azar case found in Bajura
Starting Sunday, two JCBs from the Road Department were used to clear the landslide, and the road has been opened for traffic from today, said the CDO Niraula.
According to him, landslides occurred at places like the Karagar Mod near the district headquarters, Selagad, Suwakandh, Rapka, Birekhola, and due to the continuous rain, it had been difficult to clear them, causing some delays in reopening the road.
With the road being operational, long and short distance vehicles traveling from the district headquarters Martadi have started heading towards their respective destinations.
Power supply also to be restored by today evening
After continuous rain caused landslides that toppled 32 electricity poles, work is underway to restore the national transmission line's electricity service across Bajura district by this evening.
Chief District Officer Niraula said that the 11-kV power line will be repaired and put into operation by the evening.
After many 33-kV transmission line poles fell due to a landslide in that area and it seemed like it would take some time to restore operations, he said that power would be supplied from the 11-kV transmission line in Martadi today.
