RSP to invite proportional representation candidacies by November 8

KATHMANDU, Oct 29:  The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to call for applications for Proportional Representation (PR) candidates by November 8 as part of its preparations for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections.



RSP Spokesperson Manish Jha said the decision was made during the party’s Secretariat meeting, which also agreed to launch a voter registration facilitation campaign until November 1.

The Election Commission has set the mid of November  as the deadline for voter registration. “Considering that many youths and citizens across the country have yet to register their names in the voter list, the party has decided to mobilize its party mechanisms at ward, municipal, constituency, and district levels to facilitate voter registration,” reads a statement issued by Jha on Wednesday.


The party has appointed Secretariat member Ganesh Parajuli as the coordinator of the campaign.
