RPP boycotts parliament meeting, decides not to accept parliamentary allowance

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP, which boycotted the House of Representatives meeting held on June 15,  has decided not to accept the meeting allowance for that day.

KATHMANDU, June 16: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP, which boycotted the House of Representatives meeting held on June 15,  has decided not to accept the meeting allowance for that day.


RPP made the decision on moral and principled grounds, stating that the meeting was forcibly conducted despite the parliamentary disruption over the visit visa issue.

Chief Whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi said that the RPP Parliamentary Party has sent a letter to the Secretary General of the Federal Parliament requesting the allowance for that day be returned to the state treasury. He said accepting the allowance would be inappropriate, as the meeting was held forcibly while ignoring the party’s demands.


RPP has requested the Parliament Secretariat not to release the allowance and to arrange for its return to the treasury.
