TANAHU, March 6: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) continues to hold a commanding lead in the constituency no 1 of the House of Representatives (HoR) election.
Chief Returning Officer Bishnu Prasad Upadhyay shared that as of 11:00 AM today, Dr Swarnim Wagle from the RSP has garnered 2,928 votes, continuing to lead the race.
‘RSP should not join the govt’
Govinda Bhattarai of the Nepali Congress follows with 1,657 votes while Bhagawati Neupane of the CPN (UML) has secured 1,101 votes.
Similarly, other contenders in the fray include Bidhyanath Dhakal from the Nepali Communist Party with 323 votes and Ramdutta Joshi of Rastriya Prajatantra Party who obtained 86 votes.
This constituency accommodates 126,882 voters with 68,129 votes cast in yesterday's election.
A total of 16 candidates from various political parties and independent candidates had contested from this constituency under the direct system of the HoR election.
