KATHMANDU, Sept 20: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has awarded Prof. Dr. Surya Prasad Subedi with the prestigious 'Prasidhha Prabal Janasewa Shree' award recognizing his distinct contribution to Nepal.
The announcement of the award was made on the occasion of Constitution Day of Nepal on Monday.

Prof. Subedi, who teaches at University of Leeds, UK, is the first person among the non-resident Nepalis to receive the award of this degree.
Prof. Subedi, who is constantly serving the country despite being physically abroad, has expressed his gratitude to the Government of Nepal for the appreciation of his contribution.
Prof. Subedi has been advising all types of governments in Nepal on important issues of international and national law for the national interest, regardless of who is in the government.
Prof. Subedi played his role as a member of the Nepal-India border expert group formed by the Nepal government during the amendment of the constitution by including the new map of Nepal and then as a special advisor on foreign affairs of the Nepal Policy Foundation. In 2022, he played an important role in the MCC agreement with the US being approved by parliament.
