NEPSE loses 25.41 points, daily turnover plunges to Rs 3.99 billion
KATHMANDU, Jan 12: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday lost 25.41 points to close at 2,609.67 points, mainly due to the problems occurring in the trade management system (TMS).
According to stockbrokers, investors suffered due to poor functioning of the trading platform on intraday trading. However, both the stockbrokers and the front line regulators had no answer over why the problems took place.

The secondary market opened at 2,635.09 points and gained 19 points within the first two minutes. However, it suffered a straight fall throughout the remaining trading hours.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also shedded 4.55 points with the heavyweight banking subindex losing by a notable 11.98 points. Daily turnover fell heavily to Rs 3.99 billion from Rs 7.30 billion on Thursday.
All the 13 groups had their market indices decline in the intraday trading. Finance shed the largest of 109.25 points, followed by non-life insurance with 92.31 points.
Regarding the individual companies, only 44 were gainers while 193 were registered as losers. NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited enjoyed the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 204.15 million.
Nyadi Hydropower Limited was the largest loser, while Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited had the largest gain of 10 percent of its market price.
