KATHMANDU, April 12: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has claimed that it would be better to appoint the monkeys of Pashupatinath as ministers than having monarchists be the prime minister or ministers.

Addressing a UML awareness rally held in Jhapa on Saturday, speaking in reference to the recent incident at Tinkune, Prime Minister Oli criticized those who claimed they would hold a peaceful protest at Tinkune, questioning the nature of their actions.

“They set fires, vandalized, pelted stones, broke houses, set industries on fire, looted other people's shops, and claimed they were bringing revolution and making big changes. Yet, they ran away while stealing bottles of liquor,” he said. “They fled after stealing apples and setting fire to pharmaceutical factories. Is this how they will build the country?”

Prime Minister Oli mocked those who wanted to bring back the king and make him the prime minister, hopeful of their own appointment as ministers.

“They want to bring back the king, and after doing so, they aim to become the prime minister and ministers,” he said, “Instead of them, it would be better to make the monkeys of Pashupatinath ministers.”

He also emphasized that the government would not tolerate violent activities like those seen in the Tinkune incident.
