KATHMANDU, March 19:President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed advocate Ramesh Badal as the Attorney General (AG) of the Government of Nepal.
Badal was appointed as the AG at the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli as per the Article 157 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Badal succeeds the immediate past Attorney General Agni Prasad Kharel, who resigned from the post earlier on Friday morning. He tendered his resignation to President Bhandari.
Badal is well-versed in Nepal's labor laws. He is also vice chairperson of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT), which is affiliated to the ruling CPN-UML.
