KATHMANDU, March 4: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday plunged 30.36 points to close at 2,846.30 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,876.66 points and hit the day’s high at 2,894.63 points within the first one and a half hours of trading. The index however went downhill and reached as low as 2,844.13 points before recovering by nominal points to close for the day.
All the 13 groups were the losers. Manufacturing and processing lost the largest of 149.62 points, while non-life insurance and life insurance witnessed a fall of three-digit points in their market values.

The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also fell 5.31 points. Daily turnover declined to Rs 12.94 billion from Rs 14.28 billion on Monday.
Among individual companies, 41 were gainers while 198 were registered as losers. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 1.09 billion.
Sindhu Bikash Bank was recorded as the topmost loser. Guardian Micro Life Insurance had its market price hiked by 10 percent, the largest of all.
Samaj Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was the day's highest loser.
