KATHMANDU, Jun 3: Nepali Congress lawmaker Pradip Giri has made a mockery of the Prime Minister’s high-sounding yet fanciful rhetoric that involves building waterways and railways in the country.
Deliberating over the budget of the Fiscal Year 2018/19 in the Federal Parliament on Sunday, lawmaker Giri said PM Oli’s construction of waterways and railways is nothing more than his daydream which will end up in his mere rhetoric. He will never materialize his words into action, claimed Giri.
Public debt exceeds Rs 2.434 trillion, increasing by over Rs 30...
Giri has further said that the budget has touched upon some of the Prime Minister’s fancies what CPN Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal often calls ‘a giant leap in the economic development’.
Giri warned that the country would fall into a perpetual debt trap even if the railways and waterways were constructed, referring to the incident of Sri Lanka.
He further said that the budget has nothing new, but the continuation of previous budgets.
