KATHMANDU, April 13: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) bade farewell to 2081 BS by suffering a decline of 8.62 points on Sunday, the last day of the Nepali Year.
The secondary market opened at 2,670.70 points and hit the day’s high at 2,676.41 within the first 10 minutes of trading. The market remained almost stable for the next two hours, with the index hovering around 2,670 points, which then went downhill and reached the day’s low at 2,658.58 points during the last 45 minutes. The market recovered around four points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Nepse loses 18 points after two-day rally

Non-life Insurance rose by the highest of 10.43 points, which was followed by hotels and tourism, investment and mutual funds in gainers’ list. Out of nine losers, life insurance lost 81.63 points, the largest of all.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, added 0.40 points. Daily turnover amount inclined to Rs 6.28 billion from Rs 5.63 billion on Thursday.
Among the individual companies, 88 were gainers while 157 were registered as losers. CEDB Holdings Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 453.20 million.
Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the largest of 10 percent of its market price. Goodwill Finance Limited Debenture 2083 and Nepal Micro Insurance Company Limited stood as biggest gainers.
