Parliament passes contribution-based social security bill 2017

KATHMANDU, July 24: The Legislature-Parliament on Monday passed the Contribution-based Social Security Bill 2017.


Minister for Labour and Employment Farmullah Mansoor had presented the proposal seeking the passage of the bill. When Speaker Onsari Gharti announced whether there was anyone objecting to the bill, majority of the parliamentarians approved it for the passage.

Minister Mansoor informed the parliament about various provisions as of basic education, health, use of products, agriculture programme, and social help among others. 


Taking part in the deliberation on the bill, lawmaker Chudamani Jungali said it was positive that the parliament passed the bill. It would help solve problems facing the social security sector. 


Similarly, on behalf of the Prime Minister, Minister Mansoor also presented a 'bill on pay and incentives of the President and Vice President-2017'. 


Agriculture and Water Resources Committee Chairman Mohan Prasad Baral presented the Committee report, seeking the withdrawal of the bill on Nepal Veterinarian Council (first amendment)-2017'. 


The parliament is to meet next on July 30. RSS
