Over 4,800 civil servants fail to submit personal details

KATHMANDU, Sept 17: More than 4,800 government employees have failed to furnish their property details for the current fiscal year, said the Department of Civil Personnel Records.

KATHMANDU, Sept 17: More than 4,800 government employees have failed to furnish their property details for the current fiscal year, said the Department of Civil Personnel Records. 



The Department had set September 13 deadline for the submission of property details of those holding a public position. Of the total 86,895 civil servants across the country, 82,083 have furnished their property details so far for the current fiscal year, said Information Officer for the Department, Rajendra Parajuli. 



Any person in public service is, within 60 days of the date of assuming office, and within 60 days of the date of completion of each fiscal year, required to submit the property details in his\her or his\her family members' names along with sources or evidence thereof. 

If one fails to submit property details within the given deadline, he or she is subjected to a fine of Rs 5000, and the concerned authority may start an investigation into the property in his\her or his\her family members' names.
