In this connection, the Foundation has announced the names of five tech-savvy journalists selected for the program. [break]
Among the journalists are Rajanish Bhandari of Kantipur Television, Keshav Koirala of The Himalayan Times, Gunaraj Luitel of Nagarik Daily, Arun Rai of Republica Daily and Binu Subedi of Community Information Network.
The journalists has been kept in seclusion in Hotel Mandap, Thamel from September 7-10 for 72 hours from everything except computers or hand-held devices with uninterrupted access to internet, said General Secretary of the Media Foundation Dr Dharma Adhikari
A team of three researchers headed by Adhikari will observe and record the event.
The event will challenge journalists to restrict their sourcing and news gathering to new media while reporting and writing original high quality stories on issues of common concern in rural areas.
The findings and experiences along with stories will be compiled and published, Adhikari informed journalists.
The event is organized in association with Hotel Mandap and Vision for Nepal Foundation, USA.
