KATHMANDU, March 21: People across the world are celebrating five international days today as designated by the United Nations, following their cultural traditions.


Communities worldwide are observing the first day of Solidarity Week with People Fighting Against Racism and Racial Discrimination, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the International Day of Forests, World Poetry Day, the International Nowruz Day, and World Down Syndrome Day.

More than two billion people depend on glaciers for clean drinking water, according to the United Nations.
