KATHMANDU, May 25: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday increased by 14.37 points to close at 2,231.57 points after the government through its ‘Policies and Programs’ announced to bring in policies to boost the share market.
It was the second consecutive day gain after the market came to a very low mark of 2,200 points. In the intraday trading on Wednesday, the market fell to the minimum of 2,222.24 points while it rose to as high as 2,243.23 points. The turnover amount stood at mere Rs 1.04 billion.
Nepse marginally lower in week after last session recovery
All 13 trading groups witnessed gains in their average share prices. Non-life insurance posted a gain of 134.51 points, the largest of all.
Among individual companies, Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 83.40 million. Balephi Hydropower Limited was the topmost gainer while Corporate Development Bank Limited lost the highest percent in its market value.
