KATHMANDU, Oct 10: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday plunged 27.16 points to close at 1,871.22 points.
The secondary market that instilled some hope in the investors by adding 44.62 points on Sunday could not continue with the positive note on the second day after Dashain. On Monday, the market opened at 1,898.38 points and went to a straight fall throughout the trading hours.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chips companies also declined 5.36 points. Except for mutual funds, the remaining 12 trading groups saw a decline in their average share prices. The daily turnover failed to boost and remained below Rs 1 billion.
In the individual companies, promoter shares of Himalayan Everest Insurance Limited had the biggest turnover of Rs 165.87 million while it was also listed as the top loser. Aviyan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the largest percent of its market value.
