NEPSE loses 13.03 points, daily turnover falls to Rs 7.72 billion

KATHMANDU, Nov 24: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) lost 13.03 points on Sunday to close at 2,667.40 points.


The market opened at 2,680.44 points and initially escalated to the day’s high at 2,698.77 points in the first six minutes of trading. The index then slid by around 11 points and the market remained almost stable for the next one and a half hour. The index reached the day’s low at 2,662.02 points in the last two minutes of trading. The market recovered by around five points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, declined by 1.76 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 7.72 billion from Rs 8.25 billion on Thursday.


Two out of the 13 groups, including manufacturing and processing, and investment were the gainers. Development bank shed the largest of 92 points in its index.


Janaki Finance Company Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 608.73 million. Century Debenture 2088 witnessed a decline of 7.75 percent of its market value and was recorded as the highest loser. Three Star Hydropower Limited gained the largest of 9.91 percent of its market price.
