KATHMANDU, Nov 10: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday surged by 62.54 points to close at 2,738.06 points.
The market opened at 2,675.51 points and increased successively to add 43 points in the opening one hour and 12 minutes. In the next 12 minutes, the index was corrected by a decline of 14 points. In the remaining about two and a half hours of trading, the market gained additional 34 points to close for the day.
NEPSE jumps 114.70 points; daily turnover escalates to Rs 7.61...
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also gained a notable 9.91 points. The daily turnover soared to Rs 9.77 billion from Rs 5.22 billion on Wednesday.
Among individual companies, 228 were gainers whereas 13 companies were recorded as losers.
All the 13 groups were the gainers in the intraday trading on Sunday. Life insurance sector gained the biggest of 286.05 points, while a total of five trading groups succeeded to add three-digit value in their indices.
Sanima GIC Insurance Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 380.43 million. Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Shrijanshil Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Super Madi Hydropower Limited, by adding 10 percent of their market value, were registered as the largest gainers. Sanima Growth Fund was recorded as the topmost loser.
