Nepal emerges as top country to send peacekeepers, 73 soldiers dead so far

Nepal is in the top list of countries sending both female and male peacekeepers, the Nepali Army Directorate of Public Relations and Information informed in a press conference held on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, Feb 23:  It has been revealed that Nepal has deployed the highest number of peacekeeping troops among the countries sending peacekeepers for peacekeeping operations throughout the globe. 


Nepal is in the top list of countries sending both female and male peacekeepers, the Nepali Army Directorate of Public Relations and Information informed in a press conference held on Sunday.

According to the Army, a total of 5,913 peacekeepers, including 642 female soldiers of the Nepali Army, are currently participating in 11 missions across the globe. Similarly, under the umbrella of the United Nations, 154,340 Nepali peacekeepers have been deployed in 44 different missions since the beginning for world peacekeeping and stability.


Likewise, Nepal Army stated that 73 soldiers died during this operation and 69 soldiers were injured and reduced to living an uncomfortable life for the rest of their lives.
