KATHMANDU, Dec 9: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday declined by 12.84 points to close at 2,676.15 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,689.00 points and reached the day’s high at 2,709.59 points in the first 47 minutes of trading. In the next moment, the index went into a straight fall and hit the day’s low at 2,662.83 points when 33 minutes of the trading time was left. The market recovered around 14 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, decreased by 1.36 points. The daily turnover fell to Rs 5.62 billion from Rs 7.46 billion on Sunday.
Only five groups were the gainers. Manufacturing and processing added the highest of 71.56 points, followed by finance, ‘others,’ investment and mutual funds. Of the eight losers, life insurance and non-life insurance shed the highest of 222.79 points and 151.20 points, respectively.
Among the individual companies, 92 were gainers while 138 lost in their market values. NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 352.72 million.
Swabhimaan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the largest of 10 percent of its market value. Emerging Nepal Limited with an increase of 8.76 percent of its market price was the largest gainer.
