CHITWAN, March 30: Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to nominate Jeet Narayan Shrestha as a member of the House of Representatives in Chitwan-2.

A Meeting of the NC's Central Work Performance Committee held at the party central office in Sanepa decided to make Shrestha a candidate. He is also the former district chairman of NC's Chitwan district committee.

By-elections for members of the House of Representatives are being held in Chitwan-2 on April 23.

Elections are about to be held in this constituency after the previous member of the House of Representatives, Rabi Lamichhane, was found guilty in the citizenship case and the apex court stripped him of the membership of Parliament and released from office.
