KATHMANDU, April 10: Nepal Bar Association (NBA) on Thursday called upon the government and the Supreme Court (SC) to effectively fight against coronavirus (COVID-19) by providing essential equipment and gears to the medical teams mobilized for testing coronavirus patients.
The lawyers' umbrella organization also called upon the government to provide additional testing kits and human resources to the teams at the frontline against coronavirus and arrange medical tests in every district hospitals.

Stating that some of the hospitals have not been providing testing facilities to coronavirus patients, the NBA also called the government to mobilize additional medical teams in its fight against coronavirus.
The NBA also suggested the government to provide additional incentives and allowances to security personnel, ambulance drivers and the ones carrying dead bodies. The lawyers' umbrella body also urged the government to show humanitarian behavior to those individuals coming out of their homes for urgent needs.
In a press statement, the NBA also called the government for uniform distribution of relief to all needy people after reports of uneven distribution across the country. The NBA said they have received information that the government has been distributing relief materials at some places excessively while the needy people are still deprived at other places.
The lawyers' organization also called the Supreme Court to arrange for gradual hearings of various cases which were postponed due to the lockdown only after restoration of normalcy by making effective schedule of the postponed cases.
