KATHMANDU, March 4: Nepali students have achieved outstanding results in the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards for the November 2023 and June 2024 examination series. Over 48 students from Nepal were recognized for their exceptional performance in Cambridge International AS and A Level exams.
According to a press statement issued by the British Council, two students secured the highest marks in the world, while 39 attained the highest marks in Nepal in individual subjects. Additionally, 18 students topped Nepal in the November 2023 exams, and 21 students achieved the same feat in the June 2024 series. The awards were presented by Cambridge University Press and Assessment and the British Council.

Vinay Sharma, Senior VP (South Asia) for International Education at Cambridge, praised the students' achievements and highlighted the growing popularity of Cambridge examinations in Nepal. The awards also honored students for 'High Achievement' in less widely taken subjects and those with the highest cumulative marks across multiple subjects.
British Council Nepal's Exams Director, Pratistha Thapa Rayamajhi, congratulated the winners, acknowledging their hard work and the support from teachers and parents. She emphasized the role of Cambridge A Levels in equipping students with essential skills for higher education and beyond.
The awards celebrate excellence among students in over 40 countries and reaffirm Nepal's strong academic performance on the global stage.
