KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Nepal marked the 10th National Yoga Day with a unique celebration at the Sky Walk Tower in Kathmandu, the tallest skywalk in South Asia. Organized by Ashtanga Yoga Nepal and supported by various local organizations, the event drew 150 participants for a morning of yoga, meditation, and mantra chanting.
From 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, attendees performed 12 rounds of Om chanting, followed by 108 rounds of Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar), a sequence that promotes physical vitality and flexibility. The session concluded with a mindfulness meditation guided by Swami Kalyanmitra, a spiritual leader who highlighted yoga’s mental and spiritual benefits.

Yogi Rupak, President of Ashtanga Yoga Nepal, expressed his pride in Nepal as the birthplace of yoga and emphasized yoga’s transformative power to bring peace and healing to the world. “We can create thousands of yoga gurus to spread happiness globally,” he said.
The event, held at the Sky Walk Tower, offered breathtaking views of the Kathmandu Valley, making it a truly remarkable occasion. The celebration marked a significant milestone for yoga in Nepal and reinforced the nation’s role in promoting health and spiritual well-being worldwide.
