KATHMANDU, March 28: Maoist Center leader Pampha Bhusal has claimed that it is impossible for the political system to revert to the autocratic monarchy.

Addressing the warning assembly organized by the Socialist Front on Friday at Exhibition Road in Kathmandu, Bhusal said that monarchy is not a progressive change from the republic system.

“Once a person is dead, they cannot come back to life,” Bhusal said, “The return of an autocratic monarchy is impossible.”

She also stated that citizens are unwilling to become second-class citizens under the monarchy.

“No one wishes to return to feudalism by giving up the rights of the citizen class," she said.

She said the government is adding fuel to the fire through its ill practices and lack of good governance.

“The government should correct itself and push forward the campaign for good governance,” she said, “ They should not just sit idle, adding fuel to the fire.”

She also challenged former King Gyanendra Shah to contest in the next general election.
