KATHMANDU, June 23:The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu observed the second International Day of Yoga on Tuesday amid a function in the capital on Tuesday. In the function presided over Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, instructors from Patanjali Yogapeeth demonstrated yoga practices based on the Common Yoga Protocol.

On the occasion, PM Oli and Indian Ambassador Ranjit Rae jointly released the Yoga Souvenir published by the Indian Embassy.
Subsequently, Indian envoy had read out the message of Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Over 800 persons, from different walks of life, including yoga enthusiasts, socio-cultural personalities and media, had attended the program to celebrate the Yoga Day at the premises of the Indian Embassy. Ambassador Rae also gave away prizes to the six winners of the Embassy's essay and drawing competitions.
