KATHMANDU, March 27: Police have arrested an American citizen, Julian Kirpal, from Maitighar Mandala, where royalists were protesting against the dismissal of Kulman Ghising.
He was detained after chanting slogans in support of the king. The 58-year-old American national has been taken into custody at the Singha Durbar circle. Police have stated that action will be taken against him under immigration laws.

Police found a photo of his passport on his mobile phone. Spokesperson at the District Police Range, Kathmandu and Superintendent of Police (SP) Apil Raj Bohara, said that further investigation is underway regarding his case.
