KATHMANDU, Aug 11: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has proposed initiating a broad left unity at the party's standing committee meeting.
During a meeting held at the party office in Paris Danda on Saturday, Dahal suggested moving forward with broad left unity in collaboration with the Socialist Front.
Priority right now not government change but progress on key is...
Spokesperson Agni Sapkota noted that the public supports both broad left unity and the reorganization of the Communist Party. He remarked, “Just because the process was once disrupted does not mean it will always be. Advancing with broad left unity, even if some leaders currently oppose the reorganization, is ultimately necessary.”
Dahal also announced plans to conduct a purification campaign and unite the party. He emphasized the need for new discussions based on the ideas formulated at the party's eighth congress and is committed to introducing new programs to the public.
Spokesperson Sapkota added that leaders who discussed Dahal's proposal also highlighted the importance of a purification campaign, acknowledging that the party’s situation needs improvement. He stated, "Everyone has recognized that the party is somewhat polluted and requires cleansing."
