KASKI, July 1: Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that discussions are underway between former Maoist forces for the unity.
In an interaction with central members and Gandaki province office-bearers of the party in Pokhara this morning, Dahal said that when the Maoist forces are weak the agenda of change also weakens. "The country can move forward in the right direction only when we are strong and united. Therefore, it is our responsibility to protect the agenda of change," said Prime Minister Dahal.
Justify it
Prime Minister Dahal stressed that the people have a lot of hope and trust in the present Maoist-led government. "When I took the leadership of the government this time I thought for change and an environment to make the party better," he further said.
Stating that a new leap is necessary for building the nation, the Prime Minister said the present government is firm on this and is working on social justice, good governance and prosperity. "All the leaders and cadres of our party should resolve to work together for the prosperity of the country," he said.
Dahal also said that the recently formed Samajwadi Front will work to build the foundation of socialism. "A discussion is also taking place among the former Maoists. The basis of party unity is being rebuilt. We will take concrete initiatives for party unity."
