KATHMANDU, April 22: Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli stated that the resignation of Education, Science, and Technology Minister Bidya Bhattarai was prompted by health issues, not due to any political disagreement.

Speaking at an event marking the 76th anniversary of the Communist Party of Nepal, PM Oli dismissed speculation that Bhattarai stepped down due to lack of support or coordination from his side. “She was appointed by me, she was working under my guidance, and I was supporting her. It’s a large ministry, and she resigned only because her health didn’t permit her to continue,” said the PM.

PM Oli further addressed rumors about the government's stability being linked to Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s visit to Bangkok for a medical check-up. He reiterated that power transfer to Deuba would take place after 15 months as per the agreement between UML and NC.
