SOLUKHUMBHU, July 19: Shortfall of daily commodities have been reported around Lukla based Tenjing-Hillary Airport after flight disruptions since July 11.

Following the regular cancelations of flights in the airport that used to operate around a dozen flights daily, air passengers waiting to go for various destinations have been stranded. [break]

The flights to Lukla were disrupted due to dense fog and rainfall.

Tourists who have arrived here have begun to leave to their destinations on foot as there were no signs of weather conditions improving, Funuru Sherpa of Tara Airlines, Lukla, said.

Local business entrepreneurs in Lukla claimed that the short supply of daily commodities including rice, meat and vegetables was owing to the flight cancellations.
