GULMI, August 23:  Since the beginning of monsoon, locals residing near Badighat River, Gulmi have not been able to get a proper sleep due to the fear of being swept away. Locals of these communities set their beds looking in the sky.

“We become restless when the level of water rises in the river," laments Harka Bahadur Thapa of Musikot Municipality-6.  According to him, they have time and again requested the leaders of various parties to built embankments but they didn't respond to our miseries.

Similarly, flood has also stolen the peace of mind of the family members of Karna Bahadur Khatri. “I am afraid that my house will be inundated this year too," Khatri bemoaned, adding, “Last year too, we had urged the party leaders to bring a long-term solution to our problems. However, nothing has been done yet."
