KATHMANDU, March 20: Nepal has exported goods worth over Rs 150 billion in the first eight months of the current fiscal year 2024/25.
According to the data released by the Department of Customs, Nepal has exported goods and services worth Rs 158.17 billion in the first eight months of the current fiscal year. Compared to the same period last year, this shows a 57.20 percent increase. In the corresponding period of the last fiscal year, this figure was Rs 100.61 billion.

In eight months (mid-July to mid-March), Nepal has imported goods worth Rs 1.145 trillion. This is an increase compared to the previous year, where Nepal has imported goods worth Rs 1.03 trillion during the same period.
According to the data, Nepal’s total eight-month foreign trade has increased by 15.29 percent, amounting to Rs 1.33 trillion. In the same period last year, the total trade was Rs 1.13 trillion. During this period, Nepal's trade deficit has increased by 6.22 percent. The trade deficit for the eight months has reached Rs 987.39 billion. Last year, the trade deficit was Rs 929.60 billion.
