ROLPA, July 20: Liwang and Gurung Gaun in Rolpa district have been sealed off after they reported a sharp increase in the cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Gurung Gaun in Rolpa Municipality-4 and Liwang in Ward 10 witnessed 13 cases of COVID-19 on Friday. The local government then decided to seal the area until further notice to prevent any further spread of COVID-19.

The District Disaster Management Committee has enforced a complete lockdown in the town area of Rolpa Municipality from Sunday evening. With the enforcement of a complete lockdown, Liwang Bazar looked completely deserted on Monday. Locals were ordered to stay inside their houses.
As contract tracing of the infected patients is underway, locals are grappling with the fear of the coronavirus disease. All government offices, banks and other institutions will remain closed during this period.
As of Monday, a total of 12,042 people are staying in quarantine facilities in Rolpa. As many as 70 cases of COVID-19 were detected from among 1,527 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests conducted among the suspects of the COVID-19 infection, according to the latest data from the District Administration Office.
